Duarte Ryu
Martial Art of the Dominican Republic
Newsletter April 2008
There are many exciting things happening this month in the art of Duarte Ryu. The biggest piece of news is that we have moved the dojo from its former location at the UUCJ on Arlington Expressway and are now located at the dojo of United Martial Arts on Fort Caroline Road.We are progressing at a fast pace and had the opportunity to grow and bring Dominican Jujitsu to the local community. We at Duarte Ryu would like to thank the headmaster and owner of United Martial arts, Sensei James Pierce, for giving us this opportunity to train and partner with other martial arts in the Jacksonville area. Please come and check us out and be a part of an exciting form of hard style eclectic Dominican Jujitsu. Visit the dojo and contact page for more information and class times.
This month we would also like to congratulate student Mike Brown who is currently working in Afganistan. Mike has just been featured in an article in "Moves Magazine", a magazine designed for and marketed to professional athletes. Mike also has his own security and protection company, Bishop Innovative Group, LLC. which provides personal security to high profile clients. Please keep Mike in your thoughts and prayers, as we wish him a safe journey and a safe return to his family and dojo training. Below are some photos of the magazine article.
Also of note....Please excuse our progress as we are resetting certain parts of the website. We had to take our Spanish version down this month, but will have it return next month after resetting the old website. Always remember to do your best, and don't forget to come visit us at the new dojo location. Until next month keep progressing and training hard.
